Don't Bother Me IIby kawesttexComment: That is a lot of crop, and it still looks good. At the size we view it here at DPC, it is actually much better than the full sized version.
Good shot, and it was helped by the light being right for good shutter speed. The only suggestion that I would see would be to rub out the little blur of branch behind the mocking bird. It looks a lot like sensor dust the way the crop removed all but a little of it. |

howlby tnunComment: The negative treatment does a nice job of bringing out the open mouth and eyes. It also makes the fur look different which is good too. I like the punny title too. It just isn't what's in vogue at DPC at the moment, by the comments and votes. That's ok. I still like it.
I think that it may be because it reminds me of many hours at the enlarger looking at negative images on the easel and thinking about what to dodge and what to burn. Message edited by author 2008-09-06 02:55:32. |

IMG_31381-dragonfly1-cropd.jpgby rozComment: Love the little grin with mustache and whiskers in this. That's pretty sharp shooting to get the compound eye to look as it does too. These little critters make great subjects. |

dappledby tnunComment: Wow, by the comments, this is a "like it- don't like it" kind of image, no middle ground. I'm in the like it pile. Just a little more head on would have helped a lot with getting a better score I would think, but with animals we get only what they, the animals, will offer us. |

56 Nomadby jhomrighausComment: The classic classic, 56 Chevy. The signature trim item for sure. Nice perspective. Message edited by author 2008-09-04 00:29:11. |

Tall Pinesby imagesbytlpComment: If there was a breeze, I can see why the leaves would be a bit soft looking. It looks like there was something moving across the road when the shutter was open. There's an odd looking spot there. Maybe the darker line across the road causes the illusion?
It's a beautiful scene, and looks a lot like places that I remember seeing in Georgia. |

The High Road by jdannelsComment: That's a marvelous shot, and the wind didn't hurt it at all. The moving headlights put some extra punch in the curve in the road.
Congrats on the # 1 ! |

Afternoon Swingby timfythetooComment: This is a happy looking little girl, but I think maybe she wants you to put the darn camera down and give her a push LOL : )
This is a cool blurry shot with just the right amount of sharp to give it personality.
I also think about how much fun that blur side challenge was. |

swallowby krnodilComment: This swallow must have been moving quite fast to look this blurred at 1/50 sec shutter speed. It's interesting that it is so blurry, yet clearly recognizable as a swallow because of the forked tail. |
