The amazing thunderhead and the wonderful rural foreground make this shot a treat! You did a fine processing job on this as well. The blue almost all the way around the cloud help it to stand out beautifully.

This is interesting in the way the steps seem to just float in the background, which makes it seem as though they go right off across the sky.

Evening Sails

What a wonderful image for my sailor heart to enjoy. I can see why you put this in the emotive gallery. I don't believe that I have ever seen that many sails in use at one place and time.
I like that you kept the foreground as you did, because it adds a sense of distance, and the pilings echo the clouds, making a frame for the boats in the scene.

Field of Dreams

I like this just as it is, and do not understand why it didn't place higher in the challenge results. I think that it may be that the foreground flowers being a mix of colors like they are has something disruptive about it. People seem to like bands of single colors, or layers if you call it that. It's a grand find, and excellent set up and shoot. The "Poppin' John" (J Deere) fans should like it as a print or poster.

You go Roz! Spooky but cool at the same time, and with awesome colors.
I read your description about your shooting technique. I find that a good monopod is very useful for this kind of shooting, and it allows me to move around freely to set up shots. It also takes the load of the camera and lens off my shoulders and back, which is nice. I use a Giottos 5580, and it has a couple of holes near the camera mount where I can screw one of the rods that comes with it. That allows me to brace it alongside my neck for even more stability in the left and right plane. I can also shorten it up enough to put the foot on my belt, which allows even more freedom to move about when shooting birds and active things.
