Jump Shot Even Though Surroundedby eaglebeckComment: Good idea, but i think the crop has worked against you. It is clearly an unusual shot and while you have focussed on the main figure in white you have ended up chopping details out of all the other players.
I think it would have been better cropping a bit wider and having the additional players in - after all the shot is all about a crowd so bring the extra bodies back in :- ) |

Taste The Rainbowby goinskiingComment: The idea's not bad, but the lighting is a bit harsh which leads to dark shadows under the sweets.
It might also have been nice to buy some more so that you could only see sweets and not look through a thin layer onto the background below. |

Try Againby CharleneComment: Nice idea, but not really clear enough who you are referring to, as there are people down on both sides of your picture.
If you could have rotated to the right a little so the little girl on the left was framed between the two foreground figures and cropped in tighter from the right this would have made a punchier picture - for me at least :- ) |

The Midday Napperby Pug-HComment: I think the idea here is very good, and a fine example of the challenge title.
This is almost a picture of two halves - if you run a diagonal line from the top left corner to the bottom right. right hand side is bright and colourful with the sky, roofs, signs, etc which draws the eye towards it whilst the left hand side is darker and more muted in tone. Then in this darker area there is a person lying down in dark clothes visually disappearing from the picture.
Now in many ways this could be sen as a near perfect example of the challenge title - here is an individual who is very much alone in the crowd and they have further emphasised it by lying on the ground (not a bench or anything elevated) in dark clothes, (to help stay 'invisible) in the shadows. And they are so successful that only one man in the crowd is clearly looking at them.
So I have a gentle dilemma, on the one hand ideally it would be nice to have the individual more visible, easier to connect with - but on the other hand there is a level of subtlety here which makes you work harder to find the person and identify with them which I really like. Good shot. |

Lonely american dream........waiting for his owner.......Fidel Castroby BogiComment: Hmm .. I've gone backwards and forwards on my thoughts with this one, but I do like the picture. I love the tones and colours, the slightly sad look to the front of the car, and the almost surreal effect of this street vendor and his customers who look (to me at least) like they should all be on the beach, yet here they are in a busy street surrounded by poles and cables and a whole run down air to the area.
In picture terms I think ideally you would have moved the whole picture slightly to the right so we got to see the street vendor, (who i think is important to this picture) and lost the guy half in the picture (who isn't important to it). |

m7sre.jpgby SonifoComment: Lovely capture, and very relaxed, happy feel to the picture.
I like the use of sepia here and the tonal difference between the girl and the rest of the picture - did you vignette this or just darken the rest ? |

Mean Street Smartsby Herblacklist12Comment: I didn't vote in this challenge - but I really like the movement and energy in this shot. Fits the challenge very well.
