Very nice delicate touch, and the texture helps bring out the decay in the rose petals - not in a harsh dismissive way, but combined with the gentle colours add an air of poignancy to the summer that was - still just about tangible but clearly fading into the past.

Lovely feeling of depth to this shot and saturated colours, along with a (perhaps unwitting) tension thrown in, where you have an old style, old technology boat as your main focal point, with a backdrop of vapour trails in the sky from very modern technology ! adds a liitle extra something.

I think this is a lovely gentle almost meditative type shot that would have done a lot better in a smaller challenge. Glad it managed to fly (or maybe waddle) upto the 6 mark :- )
