This is one of those photos that has taken me a while to "see." At this 5th or 6th time of viewing it seems even more complex. Saker's comment comes closest to the sense of challenge that this photo presents to me. This is truly extraordinary visually and conceptually.

Oh this is good. So so stripped down, and all the weight at the bottom with that almost Chinese red sinking into brown melting into moss green seen on a dark day; but skewsme about to ascend with her umbrella, third trunk of the tree lifting to the light. Succinct, just as you are with words.

My God, the whole thing is a reflection. What a fascinating effect, and not affecting the figures in the background. Which also are not so affected by the long exposure. Everything happening on the right, and just a big whoosh to the left, just as the subject steps onto the magic manhole. Wish I had voted and had the wit to add to your tens.

I like this a lot - both good and striking: the tones and that wonderful tangle of the little boys - especially their arms, the angle and the engagement. Doesn't hurt to have a handsome well loved hound either.

Oh, the triptych is very cool. Sandwiching shots - dog approaching in happy expectation and the kind of snortle snuffle of the punks after he's gone - frame it very nicely.
