17 - Waitingby BudComment: Awesome photo! I love the wonderful tones in the roots of that big tree and all the interesting things going on in the photo. I also love the inclusion of the side of your boat that really adds some great perspective to the shot. Excellent! |

White on blackby ATAPEComment: Really simple compositions always interest me....I love the minimalist aproach. I don't think it is boring at all. Now if that bulb had been centered and not tilted a little it might have been a little boring, but your positioning of the bulb and the lighting makes it very interesting to me. |

Day15.jpgby FotoMunkiComment: Very cool photo! I love the perspective of that 15mm and the stark b/w created by your unusual processing. It is such an intriguing shot. |

Day 16by walrus451Comment: Beautiful shot of a beautiful girl! I love the tight crop and following the rule of third "rule", as it makes for a very engaging composition. Those big dark eyes really draw you in. |

Day 14 - Fence lineby BarbBComment: Beautiful shot! I love the perspective and the fact that the posts are all at different angles...makes it that much more interesting. I don't like the metal? post on the right though, I wished it was wooden but I realize you can't change that! Well I guess you could try cropping it out, but I like where you have cropped it.
I agree with shalrath about the halos around the fence just to the right of the corner post (resulting from over sharpening?)..they are distracting in an otherwise perfect composition. |

against the oddsby ordinaryangelComment: I really love this composition and story. Reminds me of my youth when I would build paper boats after floods and float them down the ditches. I never got such great waves though! Truly amazing what you have accomplished with such basic shapes and lines. Great job. |

day14.jpgby PuckzzzComment: Great study of shapes! Actually since it is a study of shapes I would probably like it even more with greater DOF so it was all in focus (if possible).

Day 12: On the Strong Riverby jasonlpriceComment: Originally posted by dtremain: Nice shot, but I see this as a you-need-to-choose shot - what is your focus - the incredible clouds? or the forest, river, and boy? This shot has a strong dividing line just about dead center top to bottom. I think it would be stronger either as a cloud shot or river shot, and not try to include both. Try cropping it at the top of the 2nd highest clump of leaves on the tree at the right (river shot) or at the top of the highlighted tree left of center (cloud shot). Personally, I favor the river shot, because it includes just enough of the spectacular clouds without losing the great river/forest/child detail. |
Wow, I think that is the best critique I've gotten so far in this side challenge (well except for Router calling me Ansel!). Thank you so much David. |
