Beautiful composition! I wonder if it would be legal to clean up some of the brush strokes around the petals so they didn't blend with the background? I think that would have provided some much needed separation to the flower.

This has such a strange feeling to it. Kinda like a toned map impressionistic painting...I love the angle of the hill that devides the photo into triangles and the center aspen tree creating some much needed tension in the composition. Very beautiful composition! I love those paths that the birds have created. The lighting and composition are dead on for Impressionism (at least in my mind). Voted earlier in the week a 7 but bumping to 8 now. I just love the lighting....

Awesome use of light play and the composition is wonderful. The sun is just a little to harsh for me (or perhaps it is that there is an SUV that the eyes are directed to). I love the tones. Very interesting overall and good demonstration of modern impressionistic work. 7

Going back through the photos for a final look I'm bumping this up to 8..I really do like it.

Very well done in meeting the challenge, as it really looks like impressionism to me. All technicals seem fine and the subject is well placed and posed. I'm not sure why it doesn't have more impact on my though. 7

Edit to add, looking at the thumbnail and going back to review I think it is the overall contrast that keeps the photo from impacting me more. Not changing my vote though because I do like it.

I love this simple composition and the looks so natural. The muted tones are so wonderful and the gentle cloud reflections. As far as constructive help, I would love to see it with the top portion cropped off ( the tree with the thin leaves cut out) and a little more space given to the bottom of the frame. That would move the horizon up and give more space for the boat. Otherwise this is perfect. (ps I voted several days ago and am just now commenting)
