This was one of the ones I really liked. I know your title says it, but I never would have guessed this was a carnival ride operator. Did he pose for you or did you capture him in a moment? I love the clarity and detail on his face. Beautiful lighting and great DOF. An excellent picture all around.

Wow, great job for your first photo here at DPC! And you've only been doing this for a few months so I am jealous. :) The background does not bother me but like others said, you do need some softer light on the left. This is a wonderful portrait! So natural and warm. She has a beautiful smile and this pose you captured is so flattering. I love that hair! If you go back to the comments I made in mine, I noted that studio portraits were gonna be the more favored ones. I know those require a lot of work to, but I like the challenge of spontaneous shooting. I think this is what you have here and you did a wonderful job!
