The lighting certainly is gorgeous. Love the colors that the women have on their clothing. But without reading your description, I would have thought you were a passer-by taking a snapshot. Not all the women are focused in the direction of the photographer (you) and their poses are not coordinated well. These reasons, plus the busy background, are what prompted this reaction.
