I did not vote in the Free Study this round so I am just seeing a lot of photos for the first time. I'm surprised this scored so low but then again, this is Free Study and a whole new level of voting criteria applies. I think it is a good photo and you do get a sense of strong concentration from your subject. The one thing you will find as you go on is that you don't need the title to explain the photo - you will want the viewers to guess what is going on.

Good clarity, good composition, and I hope she did well!

I'd say you did a nice job of catching a festive atmosphere - and I see there is no rain. Good reason to celebrate :)

What I like about yours is that you can see that it is doing something besides sit there (like I am assuming mine was). I like the perspective and the darker tones on this.
