 This is my daughter Daisy. I took her karting for a treat the other week, it was her first time and she was just totally absorbed by it. I took a lot of shots which were OK but decided that I would go with this one as it shows how oblivious to the outside world she was. Think it may do really badly in the free study because what means a lot to me on a personal level may not mean the same to others with a neutral perspective. To be honest though I dont give a fig because for me this is a wonderful reminder of a wonderful day

And here I thought this was the place to go to get figs..

I did not vote in the Free Study this round so I am just seeing a lot of photos for the first time. I'm surprised this scored so low but then again, this is Free Study and a whole new level of voting criteria applies. I think it is a good photo and you do get a sense of strong concentration from your subject. The one thing you will find as you go on is that you don't need the title to explain the photo - you will want the viewers to guess what is going on.

Good clarity, good composition, and I hope she did well!

Need to see more of her face, especially the eyes--diffused through the face mask is fine, just not enough shown to be compelling.
