I understand about the comfort zone thing. So good for you for stepping out of it!

My camera is horrible with noise as well. Something I try while using flash is to close the aperture some. Sometimes it helps cut down on the overexposure but it allows me to use the lower ISO. Good idea with using the napkin.

Great capture of the dragonfly! I love the details of the wings and the color of the body. I think the sharpness looks pretty good.
