I did not vote in this challenge but I would have scored this high. Although, I would not have made the connection with the cell phone lol. My initial reaction was based on the guy being in focus while everyone else is a blur. But what you have written is pretty spot on.

I liked seeing this one during the challenge. I thought the moment captured and the processing gave it such an authentic feel. Plus the soldiers in silhouette in the background is pretty cool!

I thought this was a totally amazing shot. With the guy there doing his thing and then all of the hanging ice. I can only imagine that this must be spectacular to see in person. I expected this to win the blue... but congrats on the Red!

I gave it a 6 because I liked the moment you captured and the beautiful contrast in colors. I think I did not give it a higher score because my taste leans towards wanting to see subjects in focus. The leaves were the first ting to capture my attention and I would have liked to have seen them be a little sharper or clearer to make them stand apart from the ice.
