Week 4 - Stairwayby wickee_oneComment: I cannot take architecture shots. I just don't have an eye for stuff like this. I love the curved staircase. It's wonderful how it acts as a border between the two buildings. Great perspective as well. I really get that feeling of one tilting their head way back to get the view up to the top. |

Wateringby UrfaKComment: I understand about wanting to take pics without people noticing. I'm too chicken and that is why you won't see too many in my portfolio lol. I love all the lines in this pic: The brick in the foreground, the wall in the background, and the wires coming in diagonally. I like the water - creates the sense of energy. And the black and white looks fine :) |

North Fork American Riverby jdannelsComment: Oh man, what a bummer that no one told the jumper that you were taking pictures - that would have been an awesome catch, given the sign. I have to admit, when I read the sign, people jumping with shoots on is not what I first imagined lol. I love the composition and the bright contrast of the sign. Look forward to seeing more pics from your new stomping grounds. |

Within the Forest Lies Sanctuaryby jonfrommkComment: The very first thing that caught my eye was the path leading up to the door. I almost would have liked to have seen a tighter crop maybe cutting off the top to the point where the details start. This must be a beautiful scene with the trees arching overhead like that. |

urban childhoodby kolasiComment: So why would something like this score so low? Lol the figures on this sign are way more detailed than the ones we have here. Nary a kid in sight and this sign is something that I think most would be able to relate to. I love all the lines and the white tones of this picture. It's a good shot that should have gotten a little more appreciation. |

tranquilityby krnodilComment: Aww - I was a drive-by voter in this challenge. I know that I did NOT see the birds in the background! I love that bokeh! I love the light shining down on the bird in the foreground - it has a great spotlight effect. I bet it was fun to take this photograph and capture the animals at a still moment. |

Story Timeby JuliBocComment: I like the DOF and I love the focal point. I feel like I'm right there at the library waiting to pick out a book! I would like to have seen a little less yellow BUT it does match the color you would find in an old book. This is a fun and sentimental photo! |

week-4.jpgby LanndonKaneComment: I think it's an interesting idea to use textures in black and white. For me tho, it now seems that there is too much to look at, and I cannot tell what really should be the focal point. I see the brick on the right and I'm curious as to what is hanging out on the left. As for the truck itself, I think that your overlay does a beautiful job of highlighting all the different components. |

Trees of Snowfallby jaysonmcComment: Hmmm I'm wondering if those who did not recognize the specs as being snow maybe just have never seen snow before? I'm not familiar with what framing traditionally means in photography, but in here I do see several things being framed: the several layers of trees and the snow. I do like that you used natural framing instead of artificial, with the vertical trees running up the sides of the picture. I think if you had an aurora borealis floating in the white space up there, it would have won the challenge :D |
