The first thing that caught my eye is the lamp. I love how it looks here but it seems a bit tilted to me. The other part I really like are the shadows coming from the lamps. Looks like a great place to just sit and watch life happening by.

Week 2 - Denage

I cannot give any advice on portrait lighting either. I can say that to me, the light below creates some odd shadows, and she does not need to have her hand to her chin. She does look comfortable posing for you and she's pretty! It will be fun to see how your work progresses with portraits.

02 - Bridge and Birds

This would make a good scene for a hitchcock movie. The strong contrats give off such and eerie mood. The black and white really do a nice job for the silhouettes.

Week 5: William

So cute! Love the big eyes - the picture is so engaging and really pulls you in. If anything is oversharpened, I'd say it's the lower edge of the upper lip. Or it's my imagination.. no clue. Great family photo!

Street Walker

Your title makes me wonder if she's just walking the street or if it's the title of her occupation? I am curious about what she is carrying in her right hand. Love the dark silhouette with the slight glimmer of light.

01 - Tree at Water's Edge

You ought to try to get over to Marblehead. The lighthouse is surrounded by a bunch of big boulders and a couple of trees. That's what this photo reminded me of, with the lone tree up against the water. I love seeing all the snow on the dark rocks.

I agree, I think this would make a great overlay. As it is, it's too busy and the eye wanders all over the place looking for something to focus on. i would love to see you use this on another picture you do in this challenge - that would be fun.

I like the saintly glow around it. One thing I would have tried in addition to this is to burn some of the textures to create more of a contrast within the statue. But that's just me, contrast queen :)

Week 4: Sunday Night Shopping

Oh I am a sucker for dog shots. This one makes me laugh because it looks like she's got a jogging suit on or a superhero outfit. I'm amazed that someone in the city would feel comfortable enough to leave their dog sitting out alone in the open like this. Of course, I'm a paranoid nerd and could never do this. The one paw up makes me wonder if it was cold out? Mine does this. She will shift from one paw to another. Fun catch!

5.52 Then and now

How cool is this? Something stationary reflecting something moving? I have to say that I like the crop on this and the color of the other. The red adds so much more pop. Great perspective - it's not a way that I would think of taking a picture.
