Death Proves Lifeby electrolostComment: Very original - love the photography parephanalia! There is so much to see here; in virtually any other challenge the photo would be too too cluttered, but as part of the album cover it works for me. |

Depth Perception Lyricistsby ArtysteComment: My favourite of the challenge - the entry works as an album cover, and the photo is simply gorgeous. My only 10 this time. |

the light vanishes in the distanceby Blackstarlight0Comment: Well spotted - an original and very apt take on the challenge. It is very difficult to get the exposure right when shooting directly in to the sun, but you have caught the rays and got the detail in the clouds which is the most important thing. With a little post-processing this could be improved - a slight levels adjustment to darken the clouds even more, and cloing out the spots in the sky caused by sensor dust. |

David's Private Lifeby e301Comment: Ah, these must be the Anthony Gormley figures that all face the Haymarket Art Gallery? They certainly are an arresting sight - although it is a bit of a shame that the plinth of the one on the upper roof is showing. Good composition. |

D20_2276a_1.jpgby WickedBComment: This is my favourite of the series; the vulnerability of the baby is displayed well. I would be tempted to trim a smal amount from the bottom - as it is, the crop is just a little too close to the parent's elbows. |

D20_2464_1.jpgby WickedBComment: I like the basic photograph a lot, but I don't like the selective saturation. I feel that it takes attention away from the baby's face, and away from the sense of 'oneness' of mother and baby that you have, otherwise, illustrated so well. |

Solemn Dignityby MarjoComment: Pleasing composition; good title; right choice of dof - plenty of context, but with the attention on the solemn little girl. The photograph is so appealing I would suggest you do some further PP (not basic legal) - in particular I would suggest some burning of the floof, so that the child's white first communion dress stands out more. It may also be worth considering cropping the shot immediately above the tabernacle. Good work! |

A wedding photoshoot in a very public placeby NalaAndTroyComment: This looks as though it may be an interesting photo, but is too small to make a judgement. I suspect you are a new member - if so, have a read of this tutorial showing how to prepare your entry for DPC. If you need any more help, feel free to PM me. |

Shapeby TimmyQComment: I had expected this to do better in the ranking - it was in my top 10, but I suspect that you are right in your supposition that it is too 'simple' for a challenge entry. I guess also that the marks on the background may have damaged the score, although once they are ther there isn't a lot you can do in basic editing. Good work, and I may take this idea and see if I can recreate it as I desperately need to learn lighting techniques.
You have made an excellent start to life on DPC - looking forward to more of your entries in due course. |
