Urfa, congatulations on a very well deseved top 10 placement. An excellent socio-documentary photograph that fits the challenge. Well-done for gathering up the courage to ask the man if you could photograph him!

Trying to work out which photos look best in colour or black and white is half the battle between failure and success I think - and something that I haven't yet mastered. This is one that works extremely well in BW. The tonal range is excellent, and the sandpiper (?) stands out well from the lovely striated sand. All in all, excellent work.

The old car peeping out from behind the bushes is such a perfect touch! An interesting scene with plenty to keep the viewer interested. There is sufficient structure, provided particularly by the vertical lines of the trees in the uppper half, to stop the detailed scene feeling over-whelmingly cluttered. In terms of the B&W conversion I feel it is very, very nearly there, but could benefit from a little more work, as on my monitor at any rate, there do not appear to be any true whites.

Very simple and pleasingly effective. The composition with its contrasting angles works well. I think you are close to getting there with the 3d aim, but I can't offer you any advice here! A photo that I do like.

This sort of photo appeals to me. The composition and tonal ranges are good, although I am un-decided with regard the graininess. I would prefer the small object just visible in the mouth of the tunnel to be burned in as this would accenuate the idea of the tunnel as a void.

A lovely natural portrait. The tint does work well, and contributes to the pleasing softness - I shall have to learn this technique.

You have successfully shown what a dreak day it was, without making the photo flat and dull. Someone comments that the photo evokes a feeling of despair, and that is something that I take away from this as well. An interesting photo.

Oh my goodness, thay are adorable! This is a super capture. A couple of minor niggles - the little girl is just outside the field of focus, and I might prefer if the blankets covered the whole of the background. All that said, a photo that has made me smile, and one Ishall return to look at again.

Good use of street hoardings. unsure if this was serendipity, or a set up shot, but the similarity of the girls skirt to the window display works extremely well. either way, a good photograph. 8.
