Deer Flowers.by JaimeVinasComment: One of my favourite of the many deer entries - you have retained the feeling of a surprise encounter, of naturalness, whilst getting close, something I was unable to do. If the oof leaves across the animal were missing, it would have been a 10 from me, as is a strong 8. Really, very impressive. |

Golden Waters by joelantunesComment: On golden pond! The water and reflection are wonderful - my only criticism, and it is slight, is that I find the photo just a little too centered. |

Restingby KatheComment: The lighting is a little harsh, but that aside a pleasing autumnal scene. |

Going Bushby JudiComment: A super family portrait, with the animals set within the context of their natural environment. The dramatic lighting adds real interest. |

The Peregrine and the Field Mouse by DrAchooComment: Field mice are clearly a lot larger in your country than in mine! That aside, an interesting photo showing animal behaviour - a bit of a shame that the talons and tail are cut off. |

Looking Upby BarbBComment: I have tried similar shots with limited success - much harder than they look. Yours works well, although it is a slight shame that there is a little more space to the left for the cockatoo (?) to fly/land in to. |

On the Prowlby ryandComment: The intensity of expression that you have captured so well combined with the crisp focus really makes this. I am less sure about your choice of dof - it falls off a little too rapidly for my tastes and has resulted in a rather decapitated feeling. |

Harfang des neigesby ceyvalComment: This image fascinates me - i have returned to view many times over the last week. From a technical perspective the lighting and composition intrigue me. The scale seems wrong, with blades of grass and leaves out of proportion to the trees that appear in front of them. Disregarding that, there is a real fairytale fantasy feel to the photo which I find rather appealing. |
