Come closer.by optixComment: Not very keen on the downward looking perspective, nor on the cut off rump. Focus on the eyes is good and the light is certainly interesting. |

Hedgehog Havenby madnzComment: A lovely portrait of one of my favourite animals! It is a shame that the leaf comes across the hedgehog's face as that does detract from the impact somewhat, but nonetheless a photo I have very much enjoyed viewing. |

Roe deers on the bushby GiorgioBaruffiComment: A super photo of these Roe deer. I see these from time to time here in England, but they are very shy and skittish - most of the photos are of their white backsides disappearing into woodland! With this photo I particularly like the way each of the deer is looking in a different direction - I wonder if this is a sort of herd instinct, covering all bases in the watch for danger and predators. |

Pine Siskinby patio127Comment: I have been trying to get a decent photo of a garden bird coming in to land, but with no success. Seeing your photo I feel inspired to keep trying. Did you use flash? Good work! |

Enduring Spiritby MaryOComment: These birds are so powerful looking.
Wow, I have just read your description - considering their lack of wings they do certainly look fiercely proud, and in remarkably good condition. |

Blue Heronby fldaveComment: Is it really that colour?! These are so unlike the Grey herons we get here in the UK. What sort of size are they? The British heron stands about 4 foot tall - this looks quite a lot smaller, but I don't know the vegetation, so scale is difficult to judge. |

_Jubilee-Lake-duck-2.jpgby jomariComment: What a funny little tuft this duck has, rather like a pom-pom stuck on the back of it's head. Seeing the variety of wildlife from parts of the world I am never likely to visit is one of the things I enjoy aboiut this side challenge. |
