excellent photograph sandy .. love that rich dark sky and that intense browny/red colour of the rocks ... love how thats balanced by very similar colour on the pier .... beautiful glow on the water .... gorgeous ...
and sandy you can warp wotever you like if you've got photoshop CS2 ... just edit/transform/ and then you've got all the options like scale,rotate,skew,distort,perspective and warp ...and then all the rotate options .... i find skew very good if youve taken a shot and the tree or building is leaning into the picture coz of the wide angle ... you can just adjust the lean to make it more 'natural' ... of course the leaning look can be quite effective sometimes too .... and thanks for compliment, but that profile pic, taken a couple of months ago, is extremely flattering ... i'll be 55 next month .. its frightening!!

congrats on an excellent score and a wonderful photograph ... love the crisp, sharp, focussed heads and love their colouring .. the dof is perfect ... we get frogs around here after rain and yeah .. they are noisy buggers!!! .. but we dont get beautiful colourful ones like these two .. ours are usually a dirty muddy unpleasant brown colour and very occasionally the plain green ones ... this is a great capture and extremely funny ..
edit ... i find this pretty funny, but i'm thinking that some ppl might find it offensive, coz i thought dpc had rules and regs about porn ... i suppose the fact that you cant see their 'areas' makes this an artistic, tasteful and acceptable image!!! .. lol ... :)

i'm starting to realise that ppl just dont like gum trees ... i've just had a look thru a few pages of the silhouette challenge so i'd be able to comment on this one and i must say you had some really stiff competition ... but i still reckon this should have done a lot better ... i really like the weird angle of the tree against the horizon and those beautiful clouds ...

another one that i reckon should've done heaps better ... but then i've really got no idea ... the ones of my own that i feel should do well usually suck ... and i'm often blown away when i look at some the the positions, like 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 15th, 20th etc etc and just cant understand why a particular photograph didnt do so much better especially when i compare it with the ones that beat it ...... and that's considering whether it meets the challenge requirements and how 'good' a photograph it is .. etc etc etc etc ...

i hope your daughter is ok .... a child being sick can be a very traumatic experience ... you have taken a fantastic shot even so ... love the reflection of the grasses in the water and the entire colouring of your photograph ... very subdued .. very lovely ...
but wots the writing in the water???? ... something 'matik' ... interesting i really wonder how it got there coz it looks a bit like one of those plugs you get on a trial basis and it stamps the plug name all over the image until you actually buy it .. but this seems too faint for one of those ... ??

hi keith ... yes its amazing the difference in the colour and b&w versions ... the colour one is sooooooo dramatic but it does work a million times better as b&w ... i love the dodge you've done with the light at the top of the tower in the b&w .. its a stunning photograph wotever way you look at it tho ...

this is just stunning ... love your colouring .. love the composition ... love the slanted crosses and the beautiful treeless branches ... excellent ... and wot a great find ..

edit .. as i closed this image i had another look and noticed the ropes and sort of shelves on the crosses ... then realised that there are three!!! ....then that the middle one is larger, maybe because of the perspective ... i believe jesus was on the middle cross .... very emotive place and very emotive photograph ... more than excellent ...
