trailby poserComment: excellent scene .. i'm feeling that your contrast is just a tiney bit too much & it does look a bit oversharpened to me ... ... and that's only my opinion .. this is obviously the look you were going for and it will work very well for many ppl ...
glad someone helped you work out how to put this in here ... that's just one of the things i love about dpc ... the ppl are great ... |

Another new kitty!by bergiekatComment: i typed my comment on your photograph kat, and when i went to post it dpc had died .. that was 12 hours ago ... it was 'down' for hours ..
i love the different textures happening in this photograph .. and isnt it so difficult to photograph animals that are black? ... they can sometimes seem to lose all detail .. but in some ways that very thing works for this image coz it makes those eyes really pop .. love the cats posture ... very catlike!! ... :)
also i never got your pm till hours and hours after you'd probably sent it ... weird eh? ... but as you'd know by now there was no problem and thanx for starting the thread .. :) |

day 01by FirstyComment: beautiful keith ... it struck me as a thumb and it struck me after i opened it .. after seeing the subject, that's quite funny ... i only saw the humour relating to the axe after i wrote it ...
anyway .. i find so much works in this image ... the perspective of the axe handle and the piece of wood? being worked on combined with the metal thing its resting on and something in the background oof .. their lines all contribute so well to an excellent composition and to draw me into this image..
it works so well in black & white ... the dof is great, it focuses my attention on your subject ..
i love the hand just coming into the frame .. and wotever it is that i can see behind the hand seems to continue the shape of the fingers, in a sort'v abstract way, which draws me even more into this image ...
bye the way ... i love the tones too !! .. this is definitely a WOW image i my book ......... :)

Nothing To Wearby ShannonLeeComment: and i can totally believe its based on a true story seeing all those choices .. altho i dont know how you'd wear those towels .. the mind boggles !!!!! ..
great shot .. love the way you're leaning towards those clothes .. it looks like they're all the discards and wot you've actually got on is your final choice .. personally i dont think the patterns quite match tho .. like its a real no-no stripes and dots!!!! .. i reckon those dark black shoes would go a treat with your outfit tho .. it'd be quite a statement ...
like the b&w for this shot, and i like the way you're face is sort'v like a silhouette against that white background ... :)

Day-1by SandyPComment: hi sandy ... this is such a busy photograph .. and i imagine your city is a very busy place .. dohhhhh ... so the way you've composed this and the black and white really conveys that sense of busyness to me .. (think i'm sounding like an idiot!!) .. the fact that you took it at night makes it all the more interesting .. and different for me because i havent seen many b&w night shots ... i love the contrasts created by the lights and the silhouetted buildings and trees etc ... |

Office.jpgby weegi70Comment: you seem to know wot you're doing re the excellent perspective and the very dramatic angle ... personally i'd like a bit more contrast here ... levels are good for that and also brightness & contrast .. i like using adjustment layers for those sort of 'adjustments' !! .. you can work in them and make 'adjustments' that you couldnt do if you just duplicated the layer .. :) |

Day 1 - Phone Callby meneleComment: oh wow .. an unusual image .. i love how the person in that booth isnt immediately obvious ... the lean is a bit distracting ... make sure when you line up a photograph that it is exactly how you want it to turn out, often i have to tilt the angle of the camera when i'm shooting to get it right ..:)
edit 2 seconds later ... i looked again and the lines of the booth are lining up with the edge of the image ... dont know why it looks like its leaning to me .. you can now disregard my previous comment ..:) Message edited by author 2007-04-30 18:45:27. |

crisisby boysetsfireComment: stunning and just about overpowering image .. the design on the wall and the silhouette of the man .. excellent .. great composition ... the wet look and subdued reflection on the pavement is another point of interest ... |
