oh sandy .. your lens is fantastic ... just seeing these elephant photographs .. excellent .. love this image .. love the way he's standing, sort'v leaning back, love the action feel with the dust he's blowing, love the background contrasting with the texture of his skin, love his tusks contrasting with everything else in the image ... talk about wow ..
BUT ... you have a Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM listed as one of your lenses, and i dont see a 70-200 .. ??? please excuse my ignorance ... but i'd like to see the one you have and used for this shot, and check out its specs .. i'm so in the market for another lens !!:):):)x
edit ... i just read the rest of your comment .. and how amazing that the elephant comes right up to you like that .. and of course animals sense where we're coming from .. heaps more than ppl sometimes!!!!:)x

HOW DO YOU DO THAT?? ... at first i thought the wally was the bird ... then i thought that my eye's were playing tricks on me coz i must'v only seen the very end of the jump ... then i saw it the whole way thru ... excellent .. havent seen this idea in dpc before ... :):)
opened the other image before this one, with the kid shown on the jump, all the way down on the one image .... didnt realise then that it must be the 'base' or wotever for this one ... did i say excellent?? .....!!!!!!!!!

totally excellent b&w ... wonderful close-up ... love your composition and crop .. great detail ... i might'v been inclined to crop off a bit on the bottom ... :):) .. altho after looking again, the crop you've chosen makes me feel he's climbing or above you, more so than if you cropped it off on the bottom, like i just said .. so therefore i reckon its fine the way it is!!!!:):):)!!

OMG ... this shot has such character ... that goat is OUT THERE!!! .. or rather he probably wishes he was ... reckon he might fly out of there powered by his ears alone, and of course a bit of mind power as well .. altho from my experience if goats are anything like sheep, then he'll be pushing you know wot uphill if he relies on the power of his mind ..:) .. actually those eye's are manic!! ... it looks like he could be trying to hypnotize you .. i obviously got it wrong when i thought he might be flying out using his ears ... he will be using his mind after all, but not in the way i was thinking ..
