this is so excellent .. your desat works incredibly well .. in fact until i read your comment i didnt realise quite wot you'd done .. thats WOW ... i love the textures in the wood, the beautiful rich colours and your arty composition/image .. perfect .. this could'v made a great still life .. :) .. but for goodness sake dont do anything i suggest coz i'v got no idea when it comes to knowing wot those voters like .. !!:)

great shot of the place where you live .. love the light shining on the road and the shadows of the tree on the wall near the black dog sign .. you say no rain yet, but it looks wet on the pavement and road .. is that just overnight dew .. ?? .. :)

thats pretty funny coz i just finished writing on your day 19 and said about taking off the lens cap etc etc etc & missing your shot because of all that stuffing around .. and now i come to your day 20 and read about your camera setting woes ...
but OMG .. its like wotever !!! ... this is THE most gorgeous photograph, and it doesnt appear to have suffered at all with the iso800 .. that totally beautiful blur you've got with your bokeh .. amazing .. so soft, so lovely, those fantastic pastel colours ... everything about this is just beautiful .. a perfect image .. "decent" is right !!!!.. altho an understatement !! :) ..

i can so identify with the 'problems' you had today ... it happens so much that you see something you want to photograph but its a case of .. sheeeeeeesh .. i've gotta remove the lens cap, check the iso, make sure the settings are ok with exposure etc .. by which time wotever you wanted to photograph is gone !!! ... i usually shoot totally manual, but sometimes aperture priority would'v been better for speed .. oh well, live and learn eh? ..
this scene that you've photographed looks so much like where i live altho a lot more rainforesty .. if we had HEAPS more rain the firetrail i walk on could look like this in parts ... those trees look absolutely beautiful with their dark dark trunks and the vibrant greens .. you must get so many fantastic photographs along this track .. and if its anything like the firetrail i walk on, it would be different every single day ... a bit like different moods ... i love smart sharpen too .. i dont use USM at all now .. :)

i love the distortion in this image .. the slightly muted colours, except for the glow of the lights, work really well .. the sky with its silvery glow and those beautiful understated clouds is gorgeous .. a fantastic photograph ... :)
