this is amazing !! .. it makes me think of an alien landscape .. of course it would be entirely normal/natural to you, but being on the east coast of australia and never having been in a desert environment this is totally weird to me ... like those plants growing in the sand and such varieties ... :)

i laughed out loud seeing this one .. and yes this is as intense as i imagined when i saw it as a thumb .. your unhappy camper is totally in the moment .. i love your processing ... this could be one of those priceless moments/photographs that you can show him in say 20 years, altho i'd bet you'd have quite a few other photographs with high emotion like this one to choose from??.. :)

you didnt get your rural landscape but you got an excellent photograph anyway ... & you've still got time for the challenge .. i considered entering but i cant complete with those amazing scenes in iceland and canada etc etc .. i live in a very rural setting but the grass is yellow and dry looking and the trees are mostly gums which dont translate into an attractive photograph most of the time IMO & i dont have time to go anywhere except close to home .. probably a good thing that i dont try coz my challenge entries are bombing out lately .. :)
