Room to Growby mattforbesComment: The containers you selected are interesting. The lighting could be stronger IMO. |

Octopussy!by snafflesComment: The fact that the cat is out of focus, has one red eye, and is excessively large only adds to the beauty of this shot. Love it! |

GoldenEyeby MelethiaComment: Deb,
Lovely lighting on the mask and nice lines via folds in the cloth. Didn't think it necessarily fit the Bond challenge too well, but like it a lot on its own merit. |

Live And Let Dieby posthumousComment: Don,
Thought this was a funny shot, but didn't like the graininess so well. The expression on the guy's face is priceless, however. Good for you for avoiding martinis and tuxedos. |

Liberty at Sunsetby levyj413Comment: Jeff,
This is so pretty - talk about a shot that would make a great postcard! I think it is more than just a pretty photo, though - when I look closely at the colors and textures in the water, the great composition and silhouette, and the misty feel at skyline, I suspect it took a lot of work to compose and execute. And look at that score from the commenters!
Great job, you should be proud of this. |

Illusions of Selfby posthumousComment: Don,
One thing about your photos- they aren't boring. Look at that score from commenters! Obviously you speak to people.
This is a photo that works as an overall package, but could be a bit stronger with a slightly different crop or lighting. IMO the graininess really works and adds to the feel - wouldn't be as strong without it.
Great title, too. |

Potter Street Stationby bmartuchComment: This is another example of a photo that died a DPC death by post-processing, yet I love. You must be gathering a series of photos of old stations for an exhibit, triptych, series or whatever. I suspect these photos will be absolutely brilliant when displayed together, as this and "ghost station" have the same ephemeral feel. Don't let the DPC numbers on these get you down. These photos are unique and highly artistic IMO. Some of my site favorites.
Post- just saw what juliboc did with the clouds. Really makes the photo pop! |

Green Beetleby JuliBocComment: Julianne,
You must have had a private chuckle when the 'dirt' challenge came up after submitting this for free study! What I like in this photo: the mottled green background that matches the beetle well, the interplay of textures and the composition. I think it would be more captivating if the beetle's head was more in evidence and a bit sharper. Also, a fill flash on the beetle might be an interesting touch. Overall, this image grows on me as I look at it. |
