The Evil Appleby DjabordjaborComment: Very clever idea, and nice composition. Focus could be a little sharper, and lighting is a tad harsh. |

Day 12: Curvesby levyj413Comment: Wow, what a great triptych! You are so strong with architectural photos. I imagine this selling well at Eastern Market or elsewhere in DC. Great job. |

Smoke Calla Lilyby levyj413Comment: This is a beautiful photo and I commend you for trying something new! The smoke really does look like a calla lily. I prefer the white background to the black, as feel the subtleties in the smoke stand out better. It would be fascinating to do this as a double exposure and add a green leaf or stem (also very difficult, I imagine). |

Griefby JuliBocComment: I think this is a seriously underrated shot. In fact, I find it the most artistic of any of your photos. The lighting is superb, and it is obvious you had a concept in mind, which you managed to execute quite well.
I see from your comments that you cropped slightly. I would be very interested to see the original, as I think the photo could benefit from more negative space on the right side. |

the good dragonby steez6Comment: Is this you, Whiterook? Or is someone else trying to steal Rook's thunder here? The lack of rotation is a particularly ingenious touch. |

use of creativity and lighting to creates a GOOD image of rook visiting million dollars oregon viewsby charliebakerComment: This is outstanding. Is this someone with a lot of blue ribbons going for a smelly brown? Let me count the ways this should be a 10: exceptional creativity with cropping; excellent use of blown whites to symbolize blowing a wad of cash on property here; outstanding subliminal brown chess pieces rising from the sea of white rookness. I could go on, but am left in too much of a state of rapture created by this photo.
Just kidding. This sucks ass. 1. |

Who's in Charge!?...SAY IT!by RazorsEdgeComment: I gave this a 6. I think it has some really strong points: good shallow DOF; pleasing composition; funny title. Technical issues that kept it from scoring higher IMO: harsh overhead lighting; not enough negative space above queen and below king; noise in shadows; color cast in b&w (almost looks like green or yellow filter was applied). Hope this is helpful! |

The Harsh Effects of Winterby bmartuchComment: Hi Bob,
I thought this was an interesting take on this challenge. Refreshing to see a field amidst all those flowers (including mine LOL). I love the curved lines in the background. |
