 The setup:
Blue poster board for background.
Sprayed the apples.
Started shooting.

Post work:
Some quick enhancements in Picture Project (sharpening, contrast,cropped) saved as tiff
PSP editing - Selected the blue background and gaussian blurred it, ,USM, saturation, contrast
Cloned out a couple of dust spots

I think you have over prosessed this image. Those lines one the outside of the apples are distracting. The croping could have been better. This had the potential to be a very good photograph. Better luck next time.

Something about the background doesn't look right here, like there's a lot of haloing from gaussian blur.
