Excellent personification. You got it all: humor, face, and emotion. Technically, it could be better: lighting, composition, color. The tan tile doesn't do anything to enhance the shot and the lines and the bright spot in the upper right are distracting. I think a bright colored backdrop would greatly improved the impact of this shot. And if the can opener was a little more to the right and "looking" a little more toward the can, the composition would be stronger.

Great idea, beautifully executed. I would have liked to see the Mum's face and the tiny rose highlighted a little more. The hot spot on the napkin draws the eye away from the primary subject(s).

Without the title, there would be nothing here to indicate personification. I understand the drop is supposed to represent mouth-watering, but I wouldn't get that without the title. The image is decent, but DNMC IMO.

This was a very difficult challenge for your first entry on DPC. I hope you weren't discouraged by your score. I'd love to see more of your work. You'll see that some will score well and some won't, and it's not always a true indicator of your pictures quality. Sometimes the voters just don't get it, or they are in a hurry, or a lousy mood, or they don't connect with the subject. Keep trying, and you will learn a lot here.
