Dude...Time to upgrade??by jackal9Comment: Good shot, and even the photographer looks like an anachronism. BTW I like the sepia -- adds to the old feeling of the scene. |

Impressionism at the dentistby snafflesComment: I can see why this didn't do well with the voters -- rather pale and subtle, but I like it, and I like the double entendre of "impression...". And of course I agree that it's an anachronism. Now we only see advertisements on the walls -- for teeth whitening, tooth cleaning systems, gum restoration, etc. |

Dog Walkby jaysonmcComment: This is really nice. The vibrant colors are the first thing that catches my eye. The blue of the umbrella repeated in the slacks, and the green of the grass repeated in the raincoat. The wet pavement and the sunshine make a very special Spring moment. And of course the tree is magnificent. I like the lines of the paved walkways leading to the brick building in the background. The dog is the final something extra that tops it off. Congratulation on a new front page image. |

Do I know you?by bmartuchComment: I think the composition hurt the score. The subject is dead center with empty space to the right and a half a cow on the left. And while the cow is standing straight up, the slope of the land makes it look as though the photo needs straightening. I like the textures and the colors in the pasture, even though they look unnaturally orange on my monitor. In spite of all these negative things I said, I like the shot and gave it a 6. |

Le Reveby silverfoxxComment: You really work magic. How can someone ironing be so captivating?! Well The Potato Peeler is also captivating. It seems the subject hardly matters, it's all in the presentation and the light. Congratulation on another outstanding image.
P.S. I like this much better than the other, uncropped, version in your portfolio. Message edited by author 2007-04-08 17:20:38. |
