well, photoshop would have really helped, but instead i had to post edit with HP Image Zone because my month trial expired and i can't find CS2. (at posthumous) i am pretty tolerant of spinning, but i was sick at the time and just wanted to get the shot over with. :)

I gave this a 6, which is higher than what I gave the blue ribbon. I feel it meets the challenge well. I think the only difference between your shot and mine is that I have more tolerance for spinning (natural dizziness, I believe), so I took more shots until I lucked out on focus. You don't have to shoot from above like I did because you're naturally thin and big-eyed. I had to fake it!

Well, you know what -- I like this shot. It conveys that sick dizzy feel you get from spinning. I don't mind the focus. A little more contrast and a levels adjustment might improve it a bit. Or -- I don't know how you converted it to b&w, but you might want to take a look at the tutorial on that subject. There is a lot that can be done to adjust the b&w quality when desaturating.

Muppet, i think you know there is a lot wrong with this shot. I do admire you for having the balls to submit, I did that a few challenges ago, My shot stunk and i put it it for the comments.

The thought behind the shot is good, you just need to work on the camera technique

Aw this definitely should have scored higher!! Yes, it's a bit blurry, but motion was what this challenge was all about! I think that for me what the bigger issue is here is the lack of contrast - I'd like for some areas to be whiter. However, I still gave this a 7 because I do think it's just a wonderful example of what the challenge called for, and a beautiful image with the oft-mentioned eyes plus the lovely simple-yet-flowing with motion background.

I'm sorry, but I'm not certain what you actually meant to achieve here. In terms of blur, lighting and composition I'm afraid it doesn't work. Your model has haunting eyes that may work well in another more appropriate challenge - good luck.

This is blurry and too dark, but that's just my silly ole opinion. This young man has the largest eyes, haunting eyes. You should him in future images as your model. I also like the fact the background is spinning and if the young man were more in focus, your idea would really work. Hope this helps.

This is both creppy and cool. Very memorable photo.

I think this is a poor photo, it's not apparent that the figure is spinning, and the b&w is dark and without much contrast. The only plus is the enormous dark eyes of the young man, which would be even more arresting if we could see them properly.

Bad in the basics of photograph. The idea has dominated this series.

The subject seems OOF.

If there was more contrast from subject to background I might get the sense of the spinning theme. You might have aimed "Around and Around" to be more more conceptual? I am trying to see it...been 8 minutes now...There is a contour line around the head that I find interesting - it does set the head apart from the background. More interesting is that eyes follow me - like Mona Lisa eyes...interesting! 9

This image would have looked better with more contrast and sharper image of the face. Nice try.
