Caseyby ltaylorComment: This seems a little dim, as though it could use a levels adjustment. |

the fan dancerby krnodilComment: Nice image, and excellent title. It draws my attention to the position of the wings: one giving a peek at the body while the other keeps the butt covered. :) I have a little trouble distinguishing the subject from the background. I would like to see the color version of this. I am thinking that partial desaturation might be effective -- reducing the saturation of the background to almost B&W while maintaining or even boosting the colors in the bird. I like the light on the feathers. |

Designer Wingsby BrianRComment: I love the focus on this, the DOF, and the softness of the b&w conversion. I don't know how you got the bee so sharp and the flower so soft, but I love the effect. The contrast highlights the wings nicely. I enjoy the furry little body too. Even though I think the b&w conversion is excellent, I miss the color in this image. |

you wishby GnarfComment: Nice strong use of primary colors and simple composition. The texture of the pavement, wall, and water give all this negative space interest. I like the way the guardrail and the direction of the bird's flight lead to the seated individual. I think the two shadows on the left are distracting and clutter the image a bit. Other than that I think it's excellent. |

Government in the Gutterby ShannonLeeComment: Shannon, I have just discovered you, and I am delighted by your bio and your photography. This is a great example of what an artist's eye will see while others just step over it. I don't do this often, but I am adding you to my favorite photographer's list. Can't wait to dig deeper into your portfolio. |

Lunar Decayby skewsmeComment: This is the sort of image I could hang on my wall, in very large format, and never get tired of looking at it. I love the textures, but I especially like the warm tone, subdued colors, and dappled light. And I like the imperfection of the moth in this instance. The shot is beautifully balanced. Excellent work of art. |

iridescenceby WriteHeartComment: This is a marvelous shot. The iridescence is beautiful, and I like the little pearls in their little compartments. The geometry is very nice, and I am fascinated by the little hands at work. I am guessing that the score was lower than deserved because the voters were concentrating on the wings. To me they really are not the main focus of the shot, but if wings are being judged, they are a little blown in the highlights and a little soft in the focus. |

Runway Three Cleared For Take -Offby HipychikComment: I love the processing you did on this image. It has such a nostalgic feel. Too bad, it seems many voters didn't read the details of the challenge, and didn't accept your figurative wings. I have no suggestions for you. I love the composition (even the vast open space in the foreground), and the color and subject. The children's concentration on the balloons is charming. |

Wanderfalke (Falcon) in Flightby Bruce_the_RobertComment: This is such a nice clear shot of the falcon, I would like to see more of the bird and less of the sky. I'm impressed with the detail you were able to capture at that distance. |

Higher-archyby colorcarnivalComment: Nicely composed. I'm impressed that you were able to do this without cropping. It is so hard to compose a shot when the subjects are in constant motion. It's fun looking at this picture because there is something different going on with each bird. They are such individuals. And I like the overall flow and layers of the images. |
