The Rainbow Schoolby HipychikComment: I think that building really is glaringly out of place in that beautiful pastel image. I love the rest of your shot and wonder if the building is as much of an eye sore in reality as it is in this composition.
I hope you realize I'm not criticizing your image. The focus, and DOF are excellent, and I love what you have done with the sky and landscape. |

Day 11 - Blue Orchidby ephlnComment: The blue light is very cool and I like the wide frame for this shot. I looks like the orchid is in a shadow box. |

Sunflower 2.jpgby ephlnComment: I love the composition. I wish he center of the flower and the bees had more color. |

Day 1 - Sunset by ephlnComment: The lens flare is very nice -- like multiple suns. It's an interesting idea to use a sunset for b&w. I'm curious to know what the flood filter is. |

Pot of Goldby JuliBocComment: Originally posted by raish: I see you one place below me - no fair, but nice company and we got in the top 100 :)
This is a very fresh idea. I think maybe (if you were the sort of votes hawk that spends massive amounts of time and energy setting up shots) that it could me more effective against either a blurred out (bokeh) window/garden background or just a landscape picture of some sort, as well as the whole thing being stood up vertical - tea bags fixed somehow - with the rainbow more like a twelve o' clock to three o' clock quadrant and the honey pot inside it but less central. Maybe any old background would do, but preferably less intrusive/less in focus. I'm just thinking the effect could be a little lighter and airier (?) with a sort of off centre orientation.
Don't mind me, just thinking out loud. |
Raish, thank you for an excellent idea. Where were you when I needed you. I shot this photo in a room using available light from a picture window overlooking a Lake Superior beach. It was taken on a desk with a scotch tape dispenser on it. Why didn't I think of taping the tea bags to the window? *bangs head on wall* |

Abstract Flowby Bruce_the_RobertComment: Unfortunately you were right in you estimate of how well it would be received by the voters, but I think that is really too bad. I gave it an 8. |

Music and Meaningby raishComment: I can't believe this didn't do better. I really like it and gave it a 9. Do tell how you lit it. |
