Challenge: Rainbow (Advanced Editing V)
Camera: Nikon D50
Lens: Sigma 75-200mm f/3.8 AF Zoom for Nikon
Location: Norwich, England

Aperture: f/22

A blurred shot of the grass (long exposure, moving the camera up and down):

In RAW:
Rotated
As shot, auto

In PSCS2:
Auto levels
Auto color
Hue/saturation
Lots of healing of dust bunnies (because of the high contrast and small aperture; oh, and because my sensor is apparently filthy)
Crop
Levels (to bring up the contrast)
Resize
Save for web

I put a shot somewhat like this in one of the blur side challenges; I hid it during the challenge. I expect this to do very poorly. 'Nuff said.

Post-challenge:
Just for the record, I was not going for the brown. I do not play that particular game (though I've developed a tolerance for those who do). What I was trying to do was to get people to think about an image that was not DPC friendly. This, I know, is a losing battle for the majority of people here (who want prettier and brighter and sharper), but it is a battle worth fighting. I'll keep fighting it.

I gave this the 9. I thought it was so beautiful. And it has all the rainbow colors, so it meets the challenge in my eyes. It looks like watercolor pencils. I love those things.

Unfortunately you were right in you estimate of how well it would be received by the voters, but I think that is really too bad. I gave it an 8.

Very pleasing abstract.

Nice color and sense of motion -- very "daring" for a DPC entry.

WOW. Not the best shot I've seen in this challenge.

interesting use of motion to create a flowing feel - although the shot really does not hold my interest very much - i need subjects!

just too abstract for me

I like the almost cross-hatched texture of this abstract. It is a bit of a shame the purple/pink hasn't merged in to the rest, as it draws the eye.

I guess you are probably shooting for the brown here. Yes I realise its abstract, but its hardly a glowing example of technical photography . poor effort. 2

I can't see the "rainbow" in this pattern - just some random colours
