Waitingby PrismComment: I'm pretty sure this is a Cedar Waxwing. I can't see the wings, but the breast is buff colored rather than slate, and there is a touch of white above the black marking on the face.
References: Cedar Waxwing, and Bohemian Waxwing.
They are such beautiful birds, you are lucky to have the opportunity to photograph them. |

Mine, All MINEby MaryOComment: chipmunks are so cute. It's fun to see the little creature by the mountain of corn. The lighting isn't up to your usual quality. This might be a fun image to experiment with the lighting effects filter in PS (filter>render>lighting effects). I would play with the Omni light.
e.t.a: You can achieve similar lighting effects by using a Soft Light layer and painting with a low saturation soft brush using black/white to burn/dodge. Although I'm sure you know that already, someone else reading this might be interested. Message edited by author 2008-06-06 10:40:37. |

Wild Strawberry Blossomsby PrismComment: Oh, these little delicate blossoms are pretty. I haven't seen wild strawberries since we moved to Florida. This picture really takes me back to a world that has gentle Springs. |

Nectar Nibblerby MelonMusketeerComment: Love the light and focus and the bright colors. Your comments are very interesting too. I'm not much of a stickler for noise, but in this case I think Neat Image would improve the image. |

I see you!by fantomfotoComment: Beautiful color and great detail. Two things bother me just a bit. First the beak seems a bit blown out. I wonder if a little black in soft light mode would improve that. The second is something you can't do anything about, and that is the direction of his gaze. The eye is so clear and strong, I would really like to see him looking straight into the camera so I could get more of a sense of connection with him. |

Asian Short Clawed Otterby JedusiComment: This is spectacular portrait. The sweet expression, the color on the tip of the nose, the fabulous focus and detail. The light and crop are perfect too. Love it! |

Jonby CharleneComment: What a nice expression you captured on that handsome man! I feel like the image needs a little levels or brightness adjustment -- it seems a bit dim. |

The referees are jackassesby trevytrevComment: I love all the black & white lines in the zebras and the funny face in the middle. They really do look like they are huddled talking over some controversial call. I like the title and the b&w conversion, and the very nice composition. |

The Highly Competitive Trike Race Circuitby theSajComment: It's a nice event photo, although I'm not sure I would consider it a portrait. I guess the voters didn't think so either. Anyway, the event looks like fun -- you captured that nicely. |

Portrait of a Young Manby kashiComment: You captured a lot of emotion in his face. I'm not sure whether he is about to cry, has just stopped crying, or is about to smile. Whatever the situation, he is adorable, and the light, focus, and color are very nice. |
