Snarkyby Art RoflmaoComment: I like it. I like the smooth curves and the and color. The background works very well for this. I wonder how Snarky lives. He seems to have no nose or mouth or eyes. |

Mr. Critterby sherpetComment: The water is an interesting addition, but I think I like the smooth shell better. And there seems to be more texture in the fur on the first one. This is very nice, but my vote is for Mr. Elephant Beetle.
P.S. The seed pods are much nicer in this shot -- rich color and clear focus, but since the beetle is the primary subject, I'll still go with #1. Message edited by author 2008-10-04 01:20:11. |

macro_8471.jpgby HeiSchComment: Nice composition and clarity. Is this a feather? I'm curious to know if this is the original color, or if it has been converted to duotone. I think it might be more effective in b&w. Anyway the magnification shine of the drop is really nice. It looks like the room or ceiling or light umbrella is reflect in the drop. |

White Peacock Bugby MelonMusketeerComment: Beautiful. I like the composition and DOF, and nice sharp focus. Flipping this image horizontally might give it just a touch more appeal -- lots of viewers like things better that face the right. (I'm ambidextrous, so I don't care about that, but some people do.) The other thing I suggest is dodging the face (soft light white brush at 8-12% opacity) to give it just a bit of fill light. |

Mr. Elephant Beetleby sherpetComment: What an interesting insect. I wonder what it uses those horns and tusks for. You captured the detail perfectly: the black shine of its shell, and its furry chest, and the lovely seed pods. I really like the color of the background, and the DOF. |

macro---2.jpgby incubusComment: I like the color processing. And the detail is excellent. It looks like it has been rotated 90 degrees CC, and it makes me tilt my head to try to straighten it out. I think I would like it better in the portrait orientation. |

fog settles inby ErinMComment: What a beautiful landscape. I have often wondered why people would use a fisheye lens. Now I understand. Again I am awed by your talent. |

football on the beach by ErinMComment: Another good one. I like the ever so slight color that the overlay adds to the image. The birds and the ball in the air, are wonderfully composed. It looks like the birds are participating in the game. The overlay adds interest to the negative space at the bottom of the image, balancing the activity in the sky. Very nice. |
