Early Birdsby SubGeniusKittyComment: I enjoy the action you captured, and the color. I'm a fan of blur when used for artistic effect. Done well here.

Warblerby stargazer05766Comment: It's a beautiful photo. The details are excellent. Warblers are so hard to capture, since they flit about so quickly. Nice job!
I'm certain it's not a Blackburnian. They don't have any black on their throat and chest, and they are a bit more orange in color. I think it could be a female black-throated green warbler. The female has a yellow and black streaked throat. I don't know where you live, so I can't be sure the location is right. Check out WhatBird.com if you want positive identification. |

Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes)by pmichaudComment: Oh, excellent. I think the pose is perfect. I know what you mean about the ears (a no-no in nature photography) but I still think this is a shot to be proud of. |

IMG_8718.jpgby ellamayComment: I definitely like your contrast here. I gives the feel of a cold snowy overcast day, and there is still some detail to be seen in the snow. A little more sharpness might help, but this is mighty good as it is. |

4 - Brown Heron -- correction, juvenile black crowned night heronby ErikVComment: Shape and posture looks a lot like a the green herons we have here in FL. The green herons have a cross-hatching on their wings though. Beautiful capture and composition.
Since I can't find 'Brown Heron' in my bird guides, I have posted a link to this photo in a WhatBird.com forum, asking if anyone can identify it.
I got an answer from my inquiry on WhatBird.com. Immature Black-crowned Night-heron. Here's a reference photo on the USGS web site. It's not nearly as good as yours though. :) Message edited by author 2009-09-06 15:59:28. |
