I wish I had had my digital camera when my girls took their first steps.

You did a wonderful job, and I know you'll treasure those photos forever.

You made the right choice for the bokeh challenge (picking the other photo), but this image is wonderful. About as sharp as you could hope for it to be, lovely light and very nice composition. And I don't even mind the border !!!

There is too much white, I'd like to see a different background.

However, the idea is so cute!!! A ladybug on a twig is common, THIS is clever!!!!

In response to the forum thread: I prefer this one, the one you entered.

I believe this isn't what they call "good bokeh" (something about the shapes and just exactly how they should look, depending on the lens bla bla bla).
However, THIS bokeh shouts to me - water, cool, swimming pool, etc - and therefore truly enhances the subject much more than the other ones which simply have a blurred background.

Mostly wonderful. To MY liking, the exposure was a bit too long, I would have liked to see a touch more detail in the water. However, the lighting on the "gold" rock is superb!

This is very funny, and very "DPC-ish"! I admire your idea and efforts in this. His expression is priceless. You did a great job on what must have been a difficult lighting situation - deep shadow under the bridge and bright glare on the water.
