despair by tcmartinComment: Wow, just when I think most of the voting population on this site is "off their rockers", the winner truly deserves it. I had this one as a 10 (along with the other 25 people) and it was a much deserved Blue Ribbon.
Congratulations. |

Domesticated Duck Retrievalby dallasduxComment: Originally posted by Trumpeteer4: The duckies look like an afterthought. The dog is what my eye travels to. |
Correct, the dog is the subject so your eyes should be traveling to it. The challenge is to "Include" a rubber ducky in the photo, not make the rubber ducky the "subject" of the photo.
Also, it is a Golden Retriever which are game (bird) retrieval animals, so the two IMO are perfectly related and a great match. Slightly average to marginally above average shot IMO, but defintely challenge material. I had it projected as about a 5 going into the competition and still do in relation to the competition. What did you say was for supper?by CaitlynComment: I had actually upped this one from an 8 to a 9. Really, really did not get its rightful score. Never sure what voters are thinking based on some of the ones above it. It was a top 10 in the competition. Voters?????! |

Close Encountersby hihosilverComment: Another top 20 image that did not gets its due. Sorry. It was an 8 in my book and had potential for a 10. |

"They all look like their father! Not one has my coloring."by phylsy7Comment: Wow, all I can see is silly, silly, silly voters. What the HECK were you thinking by not having this as a top 10. Still agree that the pink duck needs to be turned a bit, but this was one of the most clever of the group and having seen what made the top 20, I have no idea what many were thinking. Not that they were bad shots by any means, but they certainly were not as good as this one IMO.
Keep up the good work. The voters will come around.
It was a sure fire 8 in my book. (changed from my original 7). Message edited by author 2006-10-18 10:10:36. |

Mawnin in Nawlins (Morning in New Orleans)by Hye5Comment: This is a fantastic shot. I look forward to reading about where you took it (vantage point). I love the big NO as its not far away from where I grew up. Great horizon colors. The main street looks just a bit hazy but it is early in the morning and the light may just be providing that effect. The only other area I could see that might need a touchup is the really bright red sign or flare just above and to the left of the Loews sign as it is a little distracting. -9- |

Lifeby NitinComment: The overcast clouds give this a look of later afternoon or dusk moreso than a morning walk. |
