Taschaby johnmComment: nice effect, albeit a little overdone on the left part of the pic. I really like the glow on the right (our right), and a little burning on the left and it would mesh nicely. good job.

Actorby helgihelgiComment: the border looks odd being thicker at the bottom (and maybe the top, i can't tell). the pic itself is nice - a little flat (which is hard to avoid with stage lights because they're so bright). I might adjust the curves a little to highlight some facial features, and maybe a little dodge/burn around the eyes. Glasses are a pain to shoot. Composition is very nice - great pose and expression.

Untitledby andywightmanComment: beautiful. i love the solitary green bush in the background and the way it ties her sweater in with the background. It'll look great on your wall :) |

Exfoliatedby dsa157Comment: Did you convert this to BW using the channel mixer? it has that unusual quality that the channel mixer can give because it tends to overdo the red channel a bit. It makes the whites too white and the darks too dark (in this picture i lose some detail in the eyes that I'd like to see, but if you lightened it the robe would blow out). I tend to use the greyscale/duotone method and have had some nice results.
Good luck,

Shamrock Cupidby crabappl3Comment: aside from the border this rocks :) I don't wanna know the story behind it either. I might have burned the background a bit so it wasn't so harsh, or perhaps used a fill-flash when shooting to speed up the shutter, but that just me. Either way, I like it. Pedro |

deep thoughtsby LafaminitComment: this seems to have telltale signs of neatimage (or some smoothing program or other). maybe I'm wrong, but it looks artificially soft. nice otherwise...interesting idea including the doll - nice shot. Her mate will love this picture of her when she's 25 :)

Taylor Marieby PaigeComment: I guess Taylor won't have to complain that you use Hailey too much for contests anymore. ;) I remember this punkin from the Off-center (i think) challenge. She's as adorable as ever, and you've done a great job catching her personality on camera (what's that, innocence? sincereity? i don't know...something). Anyway, love it Paige. great job. |

HOW YOU DOINGby TLL061Comment: this may sound presumptuous (apologies if it does) but this is exactly how my images look straight out of my Rebel. Generally they come out a bit soft, and a bit flat. If it were mine, I'd use both curves and unsharp mask to really bring my subject into light. That's a preference thing, and presumably just my taste - but it's what I'd do. Either way, this is a really fun portrait.
