Mountain Light by dsidwellComment: more congratulations, Sweetie.
Pedro
ps I would concur that the snow peaks (and maybe the clouds) were dodged too much - gives it a sort of cartoony look. still like it though. :) |

What?!by sahkoComment: She's still looking cute and sexy. ;)
Great shot, though a little more DOF might have been nice, as the head of the toothbrush almost disappears. I like that it blurs, it's just a little much for me.

Annaby heidaComment: Awesome, Heida. I looked at this series of Anna, and this is the clear gem in my eyes. it's a little pink for my tastes, but works nicely in this one.
the others look like candidates for 'out of place' :)
Great ideas.

Baobabby simbambaComment: Very Nice, John. I can't tell if it's a hazy day, or if the focus is a little soft, but either way it works. If you cropped this, I might try going back and giving it a little more negative space at the top. The tree is being crowded by the top of the frame (trees don't like that, I don't think:)). If this is full frame, you could try it with a little less black at the bottom and perhaps open it up a little more.
If this is close to home, it might be fun to go back and try it again and layer a couple of exposures: one way underexposed to get the sun sharp, and another layer like this to get the colours in the sky. Layer them and keep the best of both. Just don't enter a shot like that since it would get DQ on DPC. :)
Regards,
Pedro |

Waiting for batsby GordonComment: Did you know that African heart-nosed bats can hear the footsteps of a beetle walking on sand from a distance of more than six feet? I bet you didn't. Now you've learned 2 things from comments, ever.
Ever the Humble Teacher,
Pedro

Waist.jpgby PaulkComment: based on your title, I'd guess you took it with your Nikon...I did lots of waist-up pix with the swivel body when i had the 995. nice shot.
