The Flight of the Humming Birdby paganiniComment: Oh man. This photo makes me so angry! You wouldn't believe, I spent about 2 hours the other day trying to take pictures of the humming birds in front of my house and they were just to fast. I got NOTHING. this is a great shot, esp. because I appreciate how difficult it is to get. You should be very proud. |

Turbulenceby AaronComment: Now this I like alot. Something that pushes the boundaries with the challenge topic and turns out something artistically as well as photographically intriguing, clear, and concise. Excellent work. Love the clouds, they look like a fresco painting. Good luck. |

Praying Mantis by LarsPaysenComment: oh boy oh boy. we have a winner. my favorite so far. Praying Mantis's are so incredibly bizarre. I haven't seen one in years. Your lucky to have this photo op. Even if I had the chance I wouldn't be able to get shots like this. Amazing focus on this macro. Just superb. 10 |

A dying treeby jab119Comment: 2 already dead trees and some living ones. jk. nice silhouette and sunset. is that a really small bird in the tree or just my imagination? (wait, that might be the last remaining leave, you're right it is dying and not dead!) |

Buddha's headby falveyComment: for a sec I thought buddha was flipping someone the bird! lol. I really like the composition with the three plants coming up on the left (i know it's really more than three, but the last group blends together) and the light and texture from the pine needles is really cool. That said, the lighting and exposure was better chosen for your excellent choice of foreground than it was for the statue itself which has rather sharp highlights and the tree in the back would be best blackened out imo. It would be interesting to play with this in levels a bit. Nice work. |

Flyingby FranziskaLangComment: This kicks @$$ (not at money money!) Great capture. Focus is excellent and the texture and muddiness give it a great feel. The only problem I have with it is the background. Ideally, I would like the background blurred, but since you can't do that I would have at least desaturated or lightened up or done something with the green. Great job. One of my favorites so far. |
