ingredients.jpgby laurie241Comment: Nice kitchen! Drooling over the stainless fridge!
Great WB on this shot. The colors are all right here.
The one thing I would have probably done to focus more on the ingredients is to crop down the top to remove the clutter on the back counter. If you give it a try, you will see that it keeps the viewers eyes on the subject and not wandering around the room. |

choc chip cookies.jpgby laurie241Comment: The WB is already addressed by the others so I will skip it.
The composition is great, the focus is fantastic, and the subject looks really yummy!
I bet the kids look forward to rainy days when you do this! |

snack.jpgby PhotomouseComment: You can't notice it till you said something.
The uneven lighting is what catches my eye. The spotlight hitting the lower left corner is causing a harsh shadow. Something white would have reflected the light better I think. I would have the main light shine right on the white surface and bounce it onto the snack bar. So many lighting possibilities.
I agree that I like the direction the bar has, it matches the photo of it on the wrapper.
This snack bar looks really good. To bad I can't eat these things. I'm allergic to something that they put in them. |

Brats Peppers and Onion.jpgby PhotomouseComment: Very delicious sounding. My family loves brats. I may have to try this next time.
The composition of the still life scene is great. Even the reflection in the mixer bowl. The colors are fabulous. The only nit pic is the decoration on the bowl could have been turned in so its not cut off. ;) Good Job! |

Day 03 - Chicken soupby hajekaComment: I love chicken soup, homemade is best but in a pinch, a can will do. I also heard where you can fill the bowl with ice to bring the noodles to the top. The only problem is the soup couldn't be hot or the ice would be gone. (maybe those plastic ones would work)
The little bubble on the left keeps grabbing my attention. The back of the bowl is bright while the front is not. maybe flash issue? The light hitting the noodles is showing the direction the light is coming from (the rear). an over head diffused light would work best here, like a softbox to even out the illumination. I would also have spoon raised above the soup to show off the 'stuff' inside. Give the viewer the idea they are about to take a nice big slurpy bite!
A little fresh herb like parsley on the side or in the center to give a bright green color to the dish would also add a gourmet feel.
The colors are really good, and I like the 'fill the screen' composition. |
