This is a good PJ piece. I really like the composition and how the lady is reach out of the frame, it gives it some depth. I think the photo would have been better without the two in the background as it gives more relation to the sign. Probably need to be shot more more stop down for good focus on the lady, but a minor point. Good contrast and color. (Not sure I understand the border). Overall I think this is a good documentary style piece and highly rated.

Good context with the environment here. I really like how his shirt says Canada, but everything is in Italian. Makes for a good mix of the senses. At the same time I am a little lost with this photo. Is the guy the vendor or is he waiting (rest comment got cut off...) as a customer? I'm guessing from the shirt he is customer. Beyond that the photo is really well done. The composition overall works and there is alot of interest throughout the frame. Highly rated.

I really enjoyed this photo. The line elements are spot on as the repeating forms, the two girls. Yet the two girls are slightly differing giving them a nice contrast. The newspapers and lighting all wonderful. Not a huge fan of the soft glow/bleach here but more of a personal thing. Highly rated.

First off crop a bit off the top and remove the white space section, that greatly improves the feeling of this photo. White spaces like those tend to lead the eye away from the action. Other than that, I think you really have an engaging photo. I really enjoy the different elements, the people talking, the wheelchair. The person on the left seems to be a tad to late or early (if you get my drift). Still well done, highly rated.

I was torn with this picture, but ended up giving it a high rating. There are a lot of elements I like about this photo. I like the context with the photographer and the subject, it explains the pose and the direction the subject is looking. I also like the lines and how the trees come together to envelope the frame. But there is something... I think it is the bus, it needs to go. I think it is taking up too much of the show (might be tough of the spontaneity).

What I really loved about this picture is the marvelous colors and the contrast between the person and the building. There isn't a lot of connection here with the smoker, but still works as a nice color study. My only suggestion might be to crop a bit off the top (8x10 format) to remove the gray sky so it all about the colors. Still good stuff and highly rated.

This works fairly well for me, I see the context between the individual counting change and the people eating. At the same time since the man look well dressed the counting of change doesn't seem to necessarily coincide with the dining area, but more of a coincidence. Still I like the idea here and the toning/lighting is terrific. Highly rated.

One of standouts in the challenge. The shapes and context are magnificent. The figure in the background really seems to break up the static shot and add some humor and tension release to the photo. I'm a line slut, so this really works for me.

I thought this was a perfect slice of life photo. Wonderful composition with good tie to the environment with the donut sign. Still feels a bit like an environmental portrait than anything, but is superbly done. Highly rated.

This was one of my favorites in the challenge. The backdrop of course is outstanding, but more than that is how the individuals are interacting with the environment. The connection between the background and the action just works, rather than feeling forced. The perfect stop action here.
