day03.jpgby totaldisComment: Nice macro. Hard to believe he's as small as you say. It would be cool to have a visual reference point (an actual pencil?) in the shot. :-) |

Deven & Christinaby Art RoflmaoComment: Hmmm, just for the record, I don't think your stepson looks uncomfortable. It's a nice pose from both. |

24-70 2.8L taken with the 50mm 1.4by Art RoflmaoComment: Nice, Art. Excellent clarity. I tried a similar setup yesterday at f/1.4 with a coworker holding a glue stick from Staples. Not only did I get too much glare on the object, the model's hand came out looking completely disembodied from the rest of her. Somehow this seems more natural (though you could probably pull the lens closer to your face and still get sufficient blur). |

HardBody-1 Before.jpgby wehrmacherComment: Very good job on lighting the figure, but yeah, the backdrop pretty much wrecks the effort. Could a faster shutter speed and narrow DOF help blur the background? You may also need to put more distance between the figure and the background.
I also notice a lot of yellow in this image. It seems a natural color for the figurine but since the backdrop is also yellowed it makes me wonder if there is a WB problem.
I hope you don't mind the criticism, we're all in this learning thing together! |

Day 06 @ 100mm - Fountain Motarsby dsrayComment: Very cool effect! I have to say I'm relieved -- from the thumbnail, I thought these were camera lenses sticking up out of the water. :-) |

Day 06 - Wheelby shutterpuppyComment: I think this is the lensbaby at its best! Whereas one of your shots left me feeling a little dizzy, this one does not. Beautiful late-day light, too. |

Day 05A - Last Lightby KenComment: I prefer this to the b&w version. Such a wash of soft colors, with little reddish dots of artificial light drawing the eye here and there -- it's an appealing scene. I think the forward lamp stands out more in this photo, too. |

Day 1: Not Impressedby SiggavComment: Yup, a real sweetie. I like the dark tones.
PS: Your story about posting these in the wrong side-challenge made me smile! Message edited by author 2008-06-06 09:55:20. |

Freshen up the Funkby bergiekatComment: I knew right away what this was. Kind of a retro washing machine design, before the top-loaders took over. I always think those curves and thick glass are visually appealing. Good use of B&W. |
