Rising Gloryby MaryOComment: Embrace the grain, be the grain...
It's a black hole sucking all those rich blues into it, and a bolt of energy escaping to mark the event. This is great. |

5262 Tulip Hybridby pixelpigComment: Don't see that tone mapping it made a noticeable difference over the original, and to me that's a great thing (not a big tone mapping fan). The contrast between the whites and those deep, rich blues is very nice. |

Lens Flareby BAMartinComment: Very different. The backlighting almost turns this into an abstract. |

dog-day Cicadaby drydocComment: So sick of these damn bugs. Get a headache sitting on my deck from their noise. Die bugs, die! |

Through the fenceby BudyaComment: Very cool, the flowers look great but the fence behind relaly sets this off. |

Bull's-eyeby drydocComment: As a rule of thumb, barring some creative decision, you don't want to overexpose areas that contain details (think white flower petal (no) versus reflections on a chrome bumper (yes)).
Flower petals look in focus to me, though I see you added a pretty heavy dose of sharpening in post. Slow shutter speed for the focal length of that lens if you were working at the 250mm end of it. Just thinking out loud regarding your focus concerns. |

Yellow Flowerby cogeroxComment: The dof and the lighting impart a very ethereal feel to this which is quite pleasing. |
