Shedby BenComment: Like the composition and focus a lot, and a very nice range of tones. Like how you didn't go for including a whole lot of sky. |

Day 2 - Penby jonfrommkComment: Like the perspective on this but wish the point of focus fell a little farther forward to include the very tip of the pen. |

DAY 2. B&W. grass desaturated .by rozComment: Very painting-like and nice energy with the blades going off in all directions. The high contrast works well for the subject, and even though that makes the bokeh stand out a lot more, it works IMO - adds another set of abstract shapes to the image. |

sortieby bucketComment: Makes me feel like I'm sitting there, across the aisle. Conveys well ordinary life, going about its business. Good tones, I might have cropped much of the ceiling part of the bus out (right about where the ceiling curves off), to keep the eye from traveling too far toward the top of the image, away from the empty seat focal point. |

Day 3 - Threeby sherpetComment: Wonderful shapes and nice capture of texture. I think because the shapes in the frame are large, the softer focus works very well with it - conveys "gist" rather than precision. |

crisisby boysetsfireComment: Wow, what a great subject for b&w! Nice shapes, angles, reflections, it's all there. Good idea to have someone passing through the composition - to give the viewer a point of reference as to what they are looking at. |

Day 1 - Evby jonfrommkComment: I think it's effective when portrait shots are off center like this one, and you captured a nice glint in the eye. Overall the b&w is a bit dull, not a wide range of tone from very black to white and focus on the face should be sharper. |

Strongby RetroesqueComment: Great variety of high-contrast shapes, and the sky has a good tonal range which keeps it from looking too "flat". Nice angling in the composition. |

Sweet peasby quiet_observationComment: I miss Longwood Gardens - I'm a 2-year South Jersey transplant to VA. :) Been to Chanticleer gardens yet? I really like the simplicity of this - had given it a 7. Glad you decided not to arrange the comp in such a way as to leave out the unopened bud and the thin tendril bits at the bottom. Background has just the right amount of visual interest throughout the frame without detracting from the main subject. And, you had no 1's or 2's, and that's something for DPC. :) |
