Fear of Lightning by pointandshootComment: I want to say "vertiginous", but the perspective here is of one looking up, not down - but vertiginous is still a good word for it, at least for the feeling it engenders - you get the sense of being struck here, of being off balance and unsafe. Toning gives it an effective nightmarish quality. |

boat and duckby pointandshootComment: This just has a frankness of presentation that is so very appealing. Also the submersion and shadow play makes this image a bit mysterious, something to be unpacked. How it can both frank and mysterious at the same time, I don't know. :) |

Lake Clementine, Summer 2008by jdannelsComment: Quite nice composition and just hits that right note of "serene". I especially like that extra bit of clarity in the trees on the right side, which draws the eye - the overall processing has a old photo-feel to it. |
