I much prefer this shot! I'm not usually a fan of selective desat : )
I like that this one is not cropped and shows more of the buildings, it adds some nice scale. There's a nice contrast between the two main subjects and that hand with the cigarette is killer!
or the other alternative would be to crop the hell out of it, say somewhere between the nose and lips of the dude on the left, and remove the top half! It changes the whole dynamic of the shot and puts a bit more emphasis on the bike and the hand with the cigarette... : )
