Outside the Wireby MelethiaComment: I won't vote since we discussed this in the team thread, but I think this is a powerful, emotive shot that captures the chaos in Iraq along with the blazing sun. Nice final version! |

Children of the Eternal Lightby ZoomdakComment: Thomas, I think that, blown up to large format and hanging on a gallery wall, the birds would be a delightful surprise as you walked closer.
But at this small image size, they're just distracting spots. And Bear, I was hardly the one to note that. :P
Anyway, it really is a beautiful shot, so congrats! |

Internal Glowby ephlnComment: Oooooh. Preeeetty! :) I really like the addition of the water drops - adds a whole new dimension to the texture.
Edited to add: Congrats on your new personal best, too! :) Message edited by author 2007-08-29 01:34:56. |

Golden Glow in B&Wby BrianRComment: Nice lighting. I'd suggest cropping in a bit on the left, too. But really, I'd be curious to know how this would look seriously out of focus. That would push the viewer to admire the shapes, darks, and lights, without trying to see details that just aren't there. |

The Bustard in the Morningby krnodilComment: Ah, you got good stuff that day! I think it's a lovely shot, nicely sharp, with interesting textures and halo light around his head. I think the composition hurt the score, though. Dead center leaves my eye to wander around. I wonder how it'd look cropped in on the right? |

light in augustby skewsmeComment: My first thought was that the leaf in the lower right is extraneous and distracts from the grasshopper. But now I'm thinking it balances the dark area in the upper left nicely. Either way, the use of darks and lights directs my eye nicely to the grasshopper. |
