Galaby herfotomanComment: I think it's the splashing water that gives this photo it's "umph". The ropes act interestingly as leading lines to carry you through the photo. My eye is drawn to the upper left blue bit though. Cloning that out or darkening it would help people such as myself focus better on the intended subjects. |

Holding Handsby sjhulsComment: My guess on the halo mentioned below is that it's merely sunlight shining through the fine hairs of the leaves' edges.
I agree that it's pretty cute once you notice that it looks like they're holding hands. Even having that pointed out though it's a bit tough to see it. The DOF certainly leads you to the two leaves, but perhaps darkening the background would further bring them to the forefront. |

Test of Time (2)by ace flymanComment: At first read of your post I was wondering why you hadn't just walked around the ship. Now I see... bit of a tide there, eh? The incoming waves and standing water add a great deal to the shot. In a way I wish the sand had been wetter for my shot, but I didn't have the bother of running from the waves either. The sky was a nice compensation for your troubles at least. The swirls even lined up to add to your composition. |

Narcissaby LevTComment: She sure is taking a long time to read that sign. I think it's a good idea and pretty well executed, but would have had something more interesting in the window for her to be pining for. |

Specular complementarity by rio78Comment: My whole being hates everything about this image and what it represents... except one small part that says, "That's actually pretty well done." I hope this does well for you, but not so well that it ends up in the top 10. If it ends up in the top 3 I will probably blow a cork with rage. (Not voting) |

Self Loathingby CoryComment: The lighting looks odd to me.
Foreground light - It's going straight for boobs! Remember eyes naturally are drawn to bright spots. Eyes are also going to naturally go to boobs. I'd say there's no need to have a light pointed at her boobs. The viewer will get to the cleavage on their own I'm sure of it.
Background light - It's hitting her thigh. Is that just extra light from the foreground that spilled back?
I'd also recommend she get a Tetanus shot. |

That's almost exactly what I see when I look at this. "Enough already!" |

A Quiet Morning.by SaraRComment: Add me to the list of people who thought it looked like a museum display. I didn't vote though, so no harm no foul I guess. That really is the most peculiar natural lighting. It's like a potlight from above shining perfectly on them.
That must have been such a wonderful experience. |
